Most of us chose the direction of our lives very young. Many of us chose our careers when we were 17 or 18 years old. At an age where we were barely beginning to understand ourselves, we were expected to decide what we wanted to do for the rest of our lives.

After having three babies in just 16 months, I felt completely disconnected from myself. My identity had shifted. My priorities had changed. The life I had before motherhood no longer felt aligned with who I had become.

But I didn’t yet know what the new version of my life was meant to look like and on top of it I found myself deep in motherhood and exhausted.

My three boys were my number one priority and I didn’t want to return to my pre-kid career that no longer aligned with who I was. I definitely did not want to give up my time with my babies. My values had shifted. I had changed.

But I had no clear direction forward. No space to think. No space to reconnect to myself.

Everything changed when I began going deep on discovering who I am. As my yoga teacher says - Don’t chase your dharma. Follow your Prana. Meaning follow those things that light you up and give you energy. And that’s exactly what we’ll uncover here in Clarity: Connect to your whole self.

Hi I'm Megs

 

I'm a certified health coach, yoga teacher, and mindfulness and meditation coach - but more than any of those titles, I'm a mum to three crazy, wild boys and a woman who has done this work from the inside out.

I've had a personal yoga practice since my twenties and have been meditating for nearly a decade. These practices have been my constant through all of it - my calm within the chaos.

Almost eight years ago, I found myself with newborn twins and a 16-month-old. As beautiful and full as that season was, I found myself completely disconnected from who I was outside of motherhood - wondering who I even was anymore, and when it would ever get easier. I didn't want to go back to a career that no longer aligned with who I was becoming. But who was I now, outside of this new role as a mother?

So I went inward. I did the deep work - on my values, my strengths, the stories I'd been carrying, the vision I actually wanted for my life, and the habits that would get me there. And slowly, I found my way back to myself.

That's what led me to create The Whole Self two years ago - a space dedicated to guiding women back to themselves. Through yoga, meditation and mindfulness, I've been helping women slow down, create space, and reconnect with who they are beyond the roles and the mental load that women carry. This work lights me up because I know firsthand how transformative it is when a woman finally puts herself back on her own priority list.
